Elegant, clean-cut, modern and minimalist, Ma Soba knows what it means to be chic. Take your pick from an exotic arra y of various Asian cuisines, including Vietnamese noddles, creative sushi, and perpetually-popular Chinese favorites. The delectable coconut shrimp served over crispy noodles ($16.95) will make you want to hug the chef. Entrees $12-18, noddle dishes less expensive.

The Hill Tavern is Beacon Hill's neighborhood bar. Standing proud on bustling Cambridge Street, the Hill Tavern is the perfect spot for a great burger, big brunch, or tasty beer. The house burger contains seven ounces of top-flight ground sirloin, which arrives courtesy of Savenor's (Beacon Hill's top butcher), wood-grilled to juicy perfection and served with hand-cut fries. The clientele is mainly local 20's and 30 somethings that either enjoy the new seated patio, or stand in the crowded bar on a weekend night. Either it be a low key dinner with friends or a place to watch the Red Sox game, the Hill Tavern is the place to be. This is the best bar around!
Tip: Stop by weekdays, 4pm-6pm, and enjoy half-priced appetizers (chips and salsa, wings, chicken tenders). Also, if you're on a date, ask to be seated in the quiet, secluded side dining room which is partially obscured from the bar.

Personally autographed pictures and genuine memorabilia of your favorite movie stars, politicians, athletes and musicians. Upscale dining in a great location. Set on the side of the "Old West End" just blocks away from North Station, the TD Bank North Garden, historic Faneuil Hall and Quincy Market. The decor consists of a combination of light and dark woods, copper, brass and luxurious leather with huge floor to ceiling windows that you must see to appreciate.

Unassuming and somewhat affordable sushi joint next to the State House. Great rolls and sushi. Everything else is so-so and not quite worth the price, but the sushi is what keeps people coming back again and again...and again.

Harvard Gardens is many things. For one, it is a local Beacon Hill haunt. During the day, a place where nearby MGH folk enjoy lunch. On the weekends, there is a brunch crowd. Dinner is served here featuring upscale comfort food and American favorites such a delectable pastas and delicate salads. However, the real Harvard Gardens is mostly known for it's great bar scene appreciated mostly by Beacon Hillers. Crammed into the long and narrow bar you will find a plethora of preppily clad 20 and 30 somethings looking for fun and someone fun. The bar is crowded, but the drinks are not that expensive. There is something here for everyone, just remember that unless you get there really early thursday - saturday- it is standing room only!
Homemade desserts like a Guinness float or a sinful "chocolate lovers" platter for two are worth a visit alone. With its location across t he street from MGH, the bar enjoys one of the highest ratios of doctors and nurses of any establishment in the city.
